More Information on Neuropsychological evaluations

1. Neuropsychological evaluations can determine whether there is impairment in a persons memory or thinking skills, and if so what aspects of their thinking skills are impaired.

2. Neuropsychological evaluations can provide information that assists your doctor in identifying the diagnosis, that is, the cause of or contributing factors to any problems that you may be having in your thinking skills.

3. Neuropsychological evaluation can provide recommendations for treatment of any problems in memory or thinking skills that a person has.

- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

- Stroke

- Learning Disability

- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD /ADHD)

-Neurodegenerative Disorder (dementia)

- Memory Loss

It is common for people to be dissatisfied with their memory, so it is not necessarily indicative of a serious problem. This includes that it can difficult to tell the difference between normal age related innficiencies in memory versus actual impairment in memory. Neuropscyhological evaluations are usually effective in dawing conclustions as to wheather memory or other thinking problems reflect normal aging or something beyond that.

It also can occur that the person who is having memory or other thinking problems is not aware of it, but family, friends or the medical provider feeld the person is having those problems.
